Bonjour, I’m Emilie.

I grew up moving around a lot in Toronto but where I felt most at home, even at the young age of 2 years old, was ballet class. Ballet led me to gymnastics where I developed my fierce work ethic and honed my competitiveness. At 11, I was introduced to the physically brutal yet sinuous and graceful style of Rhythmic Gymnastics.

I fell in love with Rhythmic Gymnastics right away and decided I wanted nothing more than to compete at the Olympics. Head coach, Ludmila Dimitrova, chose to train me, based on my natural tenacious spirit. She always said I had thirty percent of the talent I needed but made up for it with my sheer will and work ethic. It was no easy feat and I ended up leaving home when I was eleven years old to follow my coach to Russia and train with the highest-ranked Rhythmic gymnasts in the world, the Russian National Team lead by head coach Irina Viner.

In 1995, at 12 years old, I was living in Novogorsk, Russia in old Soviet-style dorm rooms, knew little Russian, and was training 14 hours a day all in service of my dream to compete at the Olympics. From years of dedication, I went on to become a three-time National Champion of Canada, the Pan American Champion in 1999 and the only individual representative at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games for the entire American Continent. Once I ended my individual career, I lead the Canadian Group rhythmic gymnastics team to a 12th place finish at the 2003 World Championships in Budapest Hungary.

After moving to Los Angeles I developed a career in the aerial dance world, performing in music videos for Justin Bieber, live performances with Taylor Swift and The Weeknd, on tour with Cher, and in films like La La Land as a stunt double for Emma Stone and Valerian as a stunt double and choreographer for Rhianna. I started my own company and hired dancers, aerialists and circus performers to entertain and tell imaginative stories at parties and events all over LA.

Now happily married with two incredible children, I am re-envisioning my next chapter. My passion, drive, athletic career and humble yet positive outlook on life are what I value most and what make me unique. As I move forward onto my next venture I want to inspire personal greatness in others and the best way I know how is through teaching Stretch Movement. I’m currently in a growth spurt and find myself bursting with enthusiasm to share my experience and training ideas with an ever increasing circle of cherished friends!
