Maye Musks Book
Not only am I inspired by Maye’s story but I feel a closer connection to her after reading her book for always choosing to put her family first as a single mother, like my mother always did for my sister and I. After years of continued hard work, perseverance and never giving up on her career, she is recognized as a top model and has a thriving career globally! Now with her book, A Woman Makes A Plan, she’s able to share her incredible story that will empower you to continue to believe in yourself no matter what and to lead a healthy life for you and your loved ones!
The first time I saw Maye was on a big billboard in Times Square where I was outside promoting a show that was happening with the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers at the Guggenheim Museum. I remember thinking how sleek and effortless she looked with that glass of champagne in her hand and her super cool silver hair felt so fresh. We both played a part in the Virgin America campaign as I was selected among a large group of talented dancers to perform in the Safety Video written by Todrick Hall and Directed by Jon M. Chu. She was the poster girl and I was the flexible dancer in the Safety Video that didn’t know how to put a seatbelt on. Really?
Little did I know that years later I would be sitting next to Maye at an Oscar viewing party and
Years after working on this campaign complete separate from each other I was sat at the next table from Maye and we started chatting and immediately hit it off.
