Use the Bala Power Ring weight if you're looking for that added challenge, either way I want you to focus on slowing it down and really keeping good alignment with an engaged belly, hamstrings, glutes and a long spine. One standing leg abduction series may require a chair or a wall for balance, so have that close by if you think you'll want some support for balancing on one leg.
